Welcome to Artnetizens, our online art community!

Aloha! Namaste! J'adore!

Why did I start my art? This one's easy, I started painting when I was two trying to express myself with crayons that we would get every year from our school. I had a really good eye for detail and started colouring within the lines very soon and then started to recreate what I saw on television.

A personal story: when I was a little girl, my parents could barely afford a private education for me, and they still did no with a lot of sacrifices they made on their personal front; end result: I was a well rounded student and received a lot of praise for my academic success, but I still had to prove my worth as an artist, and why it deserved to be funded.

Then comes a great friend who pushed me to appear for Bangiya Sangeet Parishad and their art examinations, and I am now certified with a Senior Diploma in Fine Arts, which is awarded to you only after seven long years of examinations, certifications and exhibitions.

I still recall that in the early stages of school, kids would get their wonderful colouring books, and I had none as art books used to be expensive in my hometown in eastern India. I did not have a great success in convincing people why I should be colouring their books for them (obviously!) and this is when I started drawing...and voila, I could draw...

Recognition

My first recognition happened from Mahila Samiti's Children's Library in my hometown, and I would just win the competition every year and my librarian sir would push me to keep working for it. Those small pushed from everyone have made me what I am today, have earned in over thousand dollars and made much more than whatever I invested in my art.

My message to you

Everyone can win, and everyone can paint. My last thoughts today: do not let your difficulties be a limit to your abilities, your life is a limitless function and you are the architect, the mathematician and the magician all combined, to make all those dreams achievable, all those abilities develop into magical creations.

And, be kind to people around you, while you're at it.
